ReedSap Extract
ReedSap Extract
Plant-derived dual-regulating anti-aging raw material, a selective estrogen receptor modulator; it enables dual regulation of estrogen receptors, with matrix degradation inhibition and antioxidant activity
Product overview
PE acts on estrogen receptors (ER) with dual regulatory characteristics. It can bind to ER and exert phytoestrogen-like activity under low estrogen conditions. When estrogen concentration is high, PE competitively occupies ER binding sites and weakens the binding of endogenous estrogen to ER, showing estrogen antagonistic properties. For this reason, PE is categorized as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) in academic research. It is gradually being applied in cosmetic formulations for skin care

Mechanism of Action
1. ER receptor bidirectional regulation pathway: Acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator. When estrogen level is low, it binds to ER receptors and exerts estrogen-like activity; when estrogen level is high, it competitively occupies ERα and ERβ receptors to block the binding of endogenous potent estrogen. It upregulates the expression of ERα, ERβ and GPR30 receptors.
2. ECM protection pathway: Downregulate MMP‑13 matrix metalloproteinase to reduce matrix degradation; upregulate aggrecan (ACAN) and type Ⅱ collagen (COL‑Ⅱ) to maintain elastic tissue structure.
3. Antioxidant pathway: Scavenge DPPH free radicals, enhance SOD antioxidant enzyme activity and reduce oxidative stress damage.
Experimental Data
1. In-vitro antioxidant test: 1% PE achieves 67% DPPH radical scavenging rate and 75% elevation of SOD activity.
2. Tumor spheroid 3D inhibition test: At concentration above 148 μg/mL, nearly all MDA-MB231 spheroid cells are inactivated.
3. Human in-vivo observation: With long-term application, neck and hand wrinkles are improved visually and neck skin becomes firmer.

Key benefits
1. Bidirectional estrogen receptor modulation: exerts estrogen-like effects when estrogen level is low; competitively occupies receptor sites to antagonize excess estrogen when estrogen level is high.
2. Multi-target synergy: covers receptor regulation, matrix degradation inhibition and antioxidant activity. Animal models demonstrate improvement in bone mineral density and suppression of tumor cell activity.
3. Non-thermal extraction via high-voltage pulsed electric field, preserves plant bioactive substances.
4. Supported by multi-dimensional efficacy data from in vitro cell assays and human subject tests.
