Saffron PRO
Saffron PRO
Botanical sensitive-skin repairing raw material; acts through three dimensions: skin barrier, sensory receptors and inflammatory factors; multiple benefits including barrier repair, TRPV1 channel antagonism, anti-inflammation & redness reduction, and photodamage resistance
Product overview
Saffron is known as "Plant Gold" owing to its rarity. The selected saffron originates from Iran along the ancient Silk Road. Benefiting from thousands of years of accumulated cultivation techniques and nourishment from extreme geographical conditions, it meets globally recognized quality standards with higher content of active ingredients and superior stability. It builds a natural healthy barrier from deep skin to the skin surface and revitalizes skin vitality.

Mechanism of Action
1. Barrier repair pathway: Upregulate filaggrin expression to boost the production of natural moisturizing factors (NMF); promote fibroblast proliferation, resist UVB-induced photodamage and strengthen stratum corneum barrier.
2. Neuronal soothing pathway: Antagonize TRPV1 nociceptor, inhibit neuronal sensitization and relieve neurogenic discomfort such as stinging and burning sensation.
3. Soothing pathway: Suppress the activation of NF‑κB pathway; downregulate the release of inflammatory mediators including NO, TNF‑α, IL‑1β and IL‑6, mitigate skin inflammatory response and relieve redness.
Experimental Data
1. Filaggrin expression test: 1% Saffron PRO increases profilaggrin expression by 56% and promotes NMF synthesis.
2. UVB fibroblast protection test: 1% Saffron PRO boosts the proliferation of UVB-damaged fibroblasts by nearly 50%.
3. TRPV1 antagonism cell test: 2% Saffron PRO reverses the inhibition of cell activity induced by TRPV1 activation, restoring cell viability to 101.69%.
4. RAW264.7 cellular NO release inhibition test: 2% Saffron PRO achieves 44.8% inhibition on NO release.
5. NF‑κB pathway inhibition test: 2% Saffron PRO reduces the p‑IκB‑α/IκB‑α ratio by 72.5% compared with LPS group.
6. Inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression test: 2% Saffron PRO downregulates TNF‑α, IL‑1β and IL‑6 by 71.4%, 70.9% and 66.7% respectively.
7. Human redness test (2% Saffron PRO serum): Redness is improved after 7 days of use; facial redness fades significantly after 14 days, and the skin barrier is repaired.
