Vesicle Controlled Azelaic Acid
Vesicle Controlled Azelaic Acid
Vesicle-encapsulated sustained-release azelaic acid raw material; multiple benefits: oil control, bacteriostasis, anti-inflammation, anti-acne and improvement of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation; retains azelaic acid efficacy while enhancing water solubility and formulation stability, lowering the risk of skin irritation; suitable for oily, acne-prone sensitive skin
Product overview
Vesicle-Controlled Azelaic Acid offers multiple benefits including anti-inflammation, antimicrobial activity, whitening and pigment-lightening, widely used in skincare formulations for skin tone improvement. It adopts vesicle controlled-release technology to realize precise release, delivering high efficacy with minimal irritation. The vesicle controlled-release system forms stable, ordered and functional microspherical vesicle structures through intermolecular non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding, electrostatic forces and hydrophobic effects

Mechanism of Action
1. Vesicle-targeted sustained-release transdermal pathway: Nanovesicles act on stratum corneum, loosen keratinocytes, alter phospholipid polarity of keratinocyte membrane and increase membrane fluidity. Azelaic acid is delivered into skin and released in a controlled, slow manner to reduce irritation risk caused by high local concentration.
2. Sebum regulation pathway: Inhibit 5α-reductase activity, reduce conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone), restrain excessive sebum secretion of sebaceous glands, improve oily skin and mitigate root triggers of pore clogging.
3. Skin microbiome balancing pathway: Inhibit proliferation of *Cutibacterium acnes*, *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and *Escherichia coli*, reduce harmful microorganisms in hair follicles and improve inflammatory skin bumps.
4. Soothing & redness-relieving pathway: Downregulate TLR4 protein expression, suppress NF‑κB inflammatory signaling pathway, reduce release of inflammatory mediators, relieve blemish-induced skin redness and improve PIE (post-inflammatory erythema).
5. Pigment regulating pathway: Act on melanocytes, interfere with pigment synthesis and transport, improve PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and fade dark blemish marks.
Experimental Data
1. 5α-reductase inhibition test: 3% Vesicle Smart-Controlled Azelaic Acid achieves 95% inhibition of 5α-reductase.
2. Bacteriostatic test: It exhibits inhibitory effects against *Cutibacterium acnes*, *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and *Escherichia coli*, with the most prominent activity toward *Cutibacterium acnes*.
3. Cellular anti-inflammation test: 62.50 μg/mL sample significantly reduces TLR4 protein expression in HaCaT cells induced by heat-inactivated *Cutibacterium acnes*, with an inhibition rate of 69%.
4. Skin lesion observation: It gradually improves the appearance of PIE post-inflammatory erythema and PIH post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Redness and pigment deposition are alleviated progressively with prolonged application.

| Source: | Intelligent vesicle encapsulation technology is applied to form stable and ordered microspherical vesicle structures, addressing the drawbacks of conventional azelaic acid such as poor water solubility and high irritation risk. |
Key benefits
1. Smart controlled-release vesicle system; nano vesicles self-assemble intelligently in response to skin pH for targeted transdermal penetration. Active ingredients are released slowly to guarantee efficacy while lowering irritation.
2. Addresses drawbacks of conventional azelaic acid: greatly improves water solubility and solves the challenges of poor dissolution, insufficient stability and undesirable sensory feel in formulations.
3. Multi-pathway synergistic action: inhibits 5α-reductase for oil control, delivers bacteriostasis and anti-inflammation, and improves red & dark acne marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation), covering core concerns of oily acne-prone skin
