Microcore encapsulation system; integrates multi-target effects of whitening & melanin inhibition, antioxidant and anti-glycation, anti-inflammation; exhibits stronger antioxidant and melanin-inhibiting effects compared with resveratrol.

Documentation

Product overview

Pterocarpus indicus is a valuable medicinal material. Used alone or in combination with other herbal medicines, it can treat a wide range of illnesses. Its active component pterostilbene has attracted growing attention for its effects on whitening, antioxidation, fungal inhibition and protection against heavy metal damage

Mechanism of Action

1. Antioxidant pathway: Directly scavenge DPPH free radicals, reduce UV-induced ROS and mitigate pigment stimulation caused by oxidation.
2. Pigment synthesis inhibition: Act on melanocytes, modulate tyrosinase-related pathways and reduce pigment production.
3. Anti-pigmentation & soothing pathway: Inhibit NF‑κB signaling pathway, downregulate PGE2 inflammatory mediators, relieve UV-triggered skin inflammation and reduce secondary pigmentation.
4. Anti-glycation pathway: Reduce the level of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and alleviate glycation-related skin damage.
5. Functional system: Microcore encapsulation structure improves the efficacy of active ingredients.

Experimental Data

1. ROS antioxidant test: 24 h pretreatment significantly reduces intracellular ROS level, and its antioxidant effect outperforms resveratrol.
2. DPPH free radical scavenging test: At sample concentration of 10% (V/V), DPPH scavenging rate reaches 88.99%.
3. VISIA human test: After 4 weeks of application with 1% microencapsulated pterostilbene, obvious reduction in pigment spots and inflammatory red areas of skin is observed.

Product specifications

INCI Name: PTEROCARPUS SANTALINUS WOOD EXTRACT, LECITHIN, GLYCERIN
Source: The core active ingredient is pterostilbene sourced from red sandalwood. Micro-core encapsulation technology is adopted. As an analogue of resveratrol, pterostilbene achieves better bioavailability than resveratrol.
Recommended dosage: 0.5‑5%

Key benefits

1. Multi-pathway synergistic benefits: inhibits melanin production, scavenges free radicals, anti-glycation and alleviates inflammation to improve inflammatory hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.
2. Superior activity compared with resveratrol; under identical test conditions, it shows stronger effects on cell proliferation inhibition and antioxidant activity.
3. Micro-core encapsulation form improves the application properties of pterostilbene and enhances its efficacy.
4. Combines anti-glycation, antioxidant, whitening and anti-inflammation effects to address multiple skin damage induced by UV, inflammation and glycation.
